Ar'a is my new exhibition, presenting the preliminary results of my recent travels and artistic residencies in Kenya, Turkey and Egypt. The title Ar'a—derived from Aramaic, the language of my ancestors—carries meanings of earth, ground, and foundation. My experiences within these landscapes serve as the foundation for my artistic research.
During the exhibition, a video of an onsite performed ritual will be shown. Additionally, I display drawings, textile, and clay works, weaving together elements of nature, historical layers, and contemporary developments to explore how new meanings emerge.
The exhibition Ar'a will be on view from April 12 to May 24, 2025, at Movement Exposed Gallery Space, Buurkerkhof 7, Utrecht.
